AutoCAD for Mac?

autocad2010

Potentially. Shaan Hurley, Platform Technology Evangelist at Autodesk posted a survey (on April 1, no less – let’s hope this wasn’t an April Fool’s joke) asking for input:

the AutoCAD product team would like your feedback and opinions in a short survey to help shape the future of the next generation of AutoCAD products for the Apple Mac

One general theme running through the comments on Shaan’s blog is that as engineering, landscape architecture, and architecture firms consider switching to Mac, AutoCAD presents the biggest dilemma. Some have made the switch anyway, and run AutoCAD using software like VMware or Parallels that create a virtual Windows environment on the Mac. It’s not an ideal solution, considering AutoCAD is one of the most heavily used tools in these firms, and it’s resource intensive software.

This quote, from commenter Kennedy, says it all:

If AutoCAD was brought over to the Mac, it would essentially revolutionize the entire architecture (engineering, design, etc.) industries by allowing the USER to choose the system they are comfortable with, not having to worry about compatibility issues or what the rest of the industry is doing.

It’s time to AutoCad get started on Mac.
Was good for Mac and for AutoCad too and for his producers as well, cause if I had to choose between Mac or windows just because AutoCad, GOD i prefer Mac!
I leave here my opinion for the big ones of “AutoCad”.
