10 Reasons to Manage a Small Business With a Wiki
La Marguerite offers 10 reasons why a wiki is essential to her everyday work managing a small start-up company. Here are four:
- It’s oh so forgiving. No need to worry about messing up. You can always edit, rename, or delete a page. And if you change your mind, you can revert to earlier versions on your page history.
- It’s a virtual structure. The front page is a good place to list all the main areas of work within the company, with all the relevant pages underneath each area.
- It’s a task organizer. We are using the side bar to keep track of individual tasks. Nothing like seeing one’s name next to projects, to deliver.
- It’s a repository of knowledge. We can each contribute our knowledge as we go, without having to worry about it ever getting lost.
Check out all ten reasons on her blog. Via Edit Your Web.

It’s not just about getting a respository of knowledge. It’s more about getting people at the center. Have a look to http://www.slideshare.net/TSystemsMMS/enterprise-20-knowledge-management-the-wikipedia-myth-1135966

Wikis are cool. Emails once sent cannot be deleted but in a wiki we can delete an entry.
I also use DeskAway it has a blog feature where our team blogs.

I beleive that Wikis, as far as corporates go, are still largely underutilized as a method to manage and collaborate on projects. Fortunately with the advent of social media, Wikis are getting some new exposure.
