Are You Deep-Diving in Space With Dogfood?

bogeyThis post from Seth Godin about the popular “Double, Double” sold by Tim Horton’s got me thinking about some of the jargon that I’m hearing too often these days.

Dogfood – as in “eating our own dogfood” or “This is a chance for us to once again dogfood a product and make it even better!” (From Google email to employees). Stop with the dogfood already. My dog just confused your Web 2.0 app with his dogfood, and now he has gas.

No Diving signDeep Dive – I’m seeing an increase in use of this term, and I really don’t get it. Just say “closer look” or “in depth”. No one should be deep-diving in this shallow economy. You might hit your head.

Space – as in the social media space, the enterprise 2.0 space, the microblogging space. I hear this one all the time in webinars, product pitches, and interviews. Where are these “spaces” located exactly? Are we in a museum? Parking lot?
