Recession Got You Down? Louis CK Says Life is Amazing
Louis CK, on Conan O’Brien recently, says things aren’t as bad as they may seem. He contrasts today with his youth, when a rotary phone was the norm, you had to stand near it because it was corded to the wall, and you hated people with zeros in their telephone numbers because it took extra effort to dial them. He also pans complainers with this story:
“I was on an airplane recently and there was high-speed Internet on the airplane. That’s the newest thing that I know exists. And I’m sitting on the plane, and they go ‘Open up your laptop and you can go on the Internet.’ and it’s fast, and I’m watching YouTube clips – I’m in an airplane. And then it breaks down, and they apologize. The guy next to me goes “Psshhhh. This is bullsh**.” Like how quickly the world owes him something – he knew existed only ten seconds ago!”

Genius! Sage words!
It’s always funny to me how it seems that the more people have (expect??) the more unhappy they seem to be.
I have been in villages, cities, even slums where people could appreciate the challenges and difficulties of their lives…and still appreciate the joys of life.
The key is not to have less, but to appreciate more. Gratitude is a high art that must be worked at everyday. I find that people who are more grateful, find a way to give more, and enjoy far more from less. Thanks for a wonderful clip.
