Blogs to Watch in 2009: Part 3 – Work Tools and Patterns

I published a two-part series on Nine Blogs to Watch in 2009 (First Four, Five More), but I had more than nine blogs I wanted to mention, so I’ve decided to keep it going! Here are three more blogs I find useful:

  • The Social Organization by Rachel Happe – Rachel is a voice of experience. She’s been working in and around emerging technology, eCommerce, and enterprise software for fifteen years, and her blog is an excellent source of insight on the impact of social media in organizations.
  • Going Social Now by Shiv Singh – Shiv works for Razorfish, one of the biggest and most well-known marketing and technology consultancies, and his blog explores social media in business, usage and behavior patterns, and its cultural impact.
  • The App Gap – A blog about the future of work and the role new tools play in addressing age-old problems. It’s sponsored by Intuit and built by an excellent little company called Beeline Labs. Here’s what makes it great: it’s written by a group of contributors, most of whom are not employees of Intuit. That makes the blog a great example of what Rick Burnes calls a corporate blog worth reading because it’s “attracting a broad audience by focusing on content that is interesting to the demographic it serves rather than content about the products it sells.”

What blogs do you find useful? Which ones are you following in 2009? Leave a comment and let us know what other blogs we should be reading!

  1. Thanks for the shout out Stewart – others that I think are really interesting are:

A Journey In Social Media – Not updated too often but provides really good insight into the challenges and successes of implementing social media inside a large organization.

The Net-Savvy Executive – Nathan is focusing on the analysis and listening portion of social media and has some great insights

Best Engaging Communities – Mukund runs BuzzGain – also geared toward listening but this is his personal blog where he meanders a bit but always interesting

    Thanks for including my blog!
