Quoted in Público Article on Different Types of Wiki Uses
Público, considered a national newspaper of record in Portugal, quoted me in an article about WikiSym that highights the differences between Wikipedia and organizational wiki uses:
“At Wikipedia, the audience and potential contributor is theoretically anyone in the world that has an Internet connection,” Stewart Mader stressed, noting that the same is not true when you create a wiki to collect contributions from groups rather smaller, as colleagues for work or school.
There’s a wider range of uses people might not be aware of if they only come in contact with Wikipedia and experience the wiki used as an encyclopedia. When wikis are used at work or at school, meeting management, documentation, project management, and knowledgebases are the most common uses.
