Wikis: Basics, Tools and Strategies

Meredith Farkas, Distance Learning Librarian at Norwich University, posted this preview of her presentation on wikis for the Computers in Libraries 2008 conference. It’s an excellent look at her work with wikis so far, and a how-to for growing a successful wiki community.

BTW, Question #3 on Meredith’s FAQ: “How can I get people to use my wiki once I’ve installed the software?” is excellent.

Meredith also has a book out, which looks very interesting: Social Software in Libraries: Building Collaboration, Communication, and Community Online
