Create and share flashcards with new tool from ProProfs.com

Recently I wrote about Sameer Bhatia’s ProProfs service, which provides online teaching and learning tools, including a wiki. Sameer wrote to tell me about his new Flashcards service (officially launched on June 13th after a 5 month beta) that lets you create your own online flashcards and share them. The service started with a library of just over 1 million flashcards, and has been steadily growing since launch. The service also lets you embed flashcards in your blog or website so your students can easily find them, and users can vote, rank, and comment on flashcards. Each user can also create their own sets of flashcards and tag them for easy organization. It’s nice to see an educational service like this take user contributions and social networking tools seriously, and apply them in a way that can make the content much more useful for individual users and the whole community.
