Northern Voice 2007 – Canada’s blogging conference

I’m writing this from Chicago, en route to Vancouver for Northern Voice 2007. If you haven’t heard of it, Northern Voice is a Canadian blogging conference in its third year. John Willinsky of UBC and I will be holding a session on Building Rich Communities with Wikis. John will be discussing his Public Knowledge Project and its use of wikis to improve research, and I’ll be discussing how we’ve used a wiki for Using Wiki in Education, the wiki-based book – first for collaborative authoring, and now to build a community of readers. I’m looking forward to this conference – it’ll be a good chance to catch up with old friends and also meet some people that, to use a quote I heard earlier this month at RecentChangesCamp, I “know well but have never met before”…ah, the joys of the virtual world!

Hope to see you there!
