Guy Kawasaki uses a wiki for his next book

I’m a big fan of Guy Kawasaki, and his book The Art of the Start has been one of my favorites since it came out. Well, Guy has just announced on his blog that he’s starting work on a new book, and guess what? He’s using a wiki to solicit ideas from his readers, saying that he wants “to tap the “wisdom of the crowd” in order to ensure that it appeals to “the long tail” in this “Web 2.0″ world.” (Only a hint of cliché there :)

Seriously though, it’s good to see a well-known and respected technology person embracing the wiki as part of his writing and publishing process. After collaboratively writing, and now publishing Using Wiki in Education, the book using a wiki I’m more convinved than ever that this can transform book publishing, especially for textbooks and books written by several authors.

If you want to offer Guy some ideas on his book wiki, here’s the info from his blog.
