Miki, the virtual future of conferences, enterprise adoption of social software

  • SocialText has announced Miki, the first wiki tool designed for mobile devices.
  • “Among the pod people” Here’s a great article from the Times Higher Education Supplement about online conferences, and the use of blogging, wiki, and podcasting to create reusable information and encourage social networking at brick and mortar conferences.
  • Ross Mayfield has written a timely, on point piece about enterprise social software adoption. Ross echoes some points I’ve been making that, especially with the wiki, a top down approach won’t necessarily work. The tool can be put within easy reach, but then people need to discover it and personally realize its value for it to be sustainable over time.
  • Webmaster Eyes is a new tool I just found which shows you the Google PageRank of all links on a page. So far, I can think that it’s useful for seeing the rank of pages linking to your site, and to see the rank of individual pages within your own site. Try it out:
